Sekisui House shareholders' meeting – Shareholders filed a provisional disposition to the Osaka District Court of postponement

On April 16, 2020 the shareholders making a shareholder proposal to Sekisui House filed a provisional disposition to the Osaka District Court to request a postponement of the general meeting of shareholders scheduled for later this month, saying that it would be inappropriate to hold a shareholders’ meeting under a state of emergency.

 

The ordinary meeting of shareholders is scheduled for April 23, 2020 in Osaka.  The shareholders making the shareholder proposal, including former chairman of the company, claim in a petition for provisional disposition that the meeting of shareholders is an event that Osaka Prefecture has called on companies to voluntarily refrain from conducting and would run counter to the purpose of the declaration of a state of emergency.  Sekisui House plans to hold the meeting while strengthening measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.  The shareholders are seeking to replace the current board of the company.
